What we do

We dedicate our efforts to rescuing dogs and cats from the streets and finding them a new home. Our priority is to allocate funds for sterilization campaigns to prevent more animals from being born on the streets.

In 2024, we sterilized 321 animals, including dogs and cats, preventing approximately 2,800 puppies from being born on the streets within a year.

If you want to sponsor one or more surgeries click donate below.

Spay Neuter Campaigns

We conduct sterilization campaigns in areas with a high overpopulation of street animals. With only $0.66 per day ($20 per month), you can sponsor a spay neuter surgery and help prevent the suffering of thousands of animals.

Daily rescues

Every day, we receive requests for help for animals in vulnerable conditions. See our latest rescues through daily posts on social media. If you’d like to contribute to their veterinary care, consider sponsoring a rescued animal.

Adoptions

Open your home and heart—find a new member of your family. Adopting saves two lives: the first is the animal you welcome home, and the second is the one we can help in its place. Learn more about the adoption process.

Educational workshops

We offer educational workshops that promote animal welfare, adoption, and sterilization. Contact us if you’d like to support us as a volunteer or if you’re looking for a workshop for your institution or company.

Why Support Our Work?

We work with one goal in mind: to break the cycle of uncontrolled animal reproduction on the streets and improve animal welfare in Ecuador.

Our team is made up of professionals who love animals. We constantly seek to grow, innovate, and help as many animals as possible. At Fundación Camino a Casa, we operate with integrity, responsibility, transparency, professionalism, and compassion. Our non profit has been legally registered in Ecuador since we began in 2011.

If you’re here, it’s because you love animals and want to see a change in the reality they face. When you join our cause, you can trust that your donations will have a positive impact on the lives of thousands of animals.

Transparency

Each rescue begins with bringing the dog or cat to a veterinary hospital for a full evaluation, including blood tests, fecal exams, X-rays, and ultrasounds. Many of the animals we rescue have been hit by cars and require surgeries such as orthopedic procedures, internal surgery, enucleations, extractions, sterilizations, and more.

We work under an agreement with Animal Solutions Veterinary Hospital, where the country’s top veterinarians treat our rescues at a reduced cost.

We keep a detailed record and accounting of every case with complete transparency. Anyone can inquire at the veterinary hospital about our rescued animals and speak with the veterinarians.

Experience

Over the past 13 years, we have confirmed that the most efficient and compassionate way to control urban animal overpopulation is through sterilization campaigns.

People support us by providing temporary homes until our rescues find permanent adoptive families. This allows us to allocate more donations to sterilization campaigns rather than a shelter.

Professionalism

We carry out our rescues and sterilization campaigns in a professional and responsible manner. We know that the best way to help animals is to get more people to join our cause, and we achieve that through integrity, honesty, and leadership in our work.

Join our cause

We know that with your support, we can help many more animals. Watch the video to meet the animals we were able to rescue in 2024 thanks to generous donors like you.
